  There are many breeds of horses. William the Conqueror brought the Hucul horse to England.
  It is one of the most well-known and longest-running. It towered
  above the average plough horse, with thick muscles and a strong hindquarters, and was known for its endurance, steadfastness and toughness.
  
  This breed is available in a variety of colours, from bay to white, and
  is considered the most versatile.

  some breeds are more appropriate for children, such as ponies.
  The maximum height for ponies is usually fourteen inches,
  but there are exceptions to this rule, including
  Icelandic and Miniature Horses. Ponies are
  smaller than bigger breeds and therefore easier to handle.
  
  Apart from being smaller, ponies also have a longer and
  broader neck which makes them perfect for children.
  
  Another breed that is popular is the Thoroughbred.
  They are well-known in short races in the US and are great show horses and jumpers.
  
  They are also extremely versatile and have a long history in American culture.
  The American Quarter Horse is a popular choice for use in the
  family. It is also the most sought-after breed of
  horse in America. It is estimated that there are more than three million horses
  of this breed. They are between eight and sixteen hands tall,
  making them an an excellent choice for both riding and as a pet for the family.
  
  
  Modern Appaloosa horses are very popular. They are small and compact,
  with spotted coats that make them ideal
  for children and adults. Appaloosas are very similar
  to Quarter horses in conformation however it is not often available in solid colors.
  Appaloosas are distinguished by their spots and are more likely to
  be apricots chestnuts or browns than Quarter horses. The Appaloosa horse has a long tail, which is very similar to a Quarter horse.
